Livegrade Studio comes with support for interactive CDL control of Disguise systems. This feature enables you to grade content like a video layer in a Disguise system via a network connection.
You can control CDLs in a Disguise Designer project on a machine in a network you connect to via IP (LAN or Wifi depending on your connection).
Make sure there is at least one CDL (or multiple CDLs) set up in your Disguise Designer project. You can choose the CDL you want to grade from a CDL list loaded upon adding the Disguise system to a slot.
When working with Livegrade and CDLs, the Pre Transform and Post Transform of the CDL should be set to the working space of Livegrade, which is ACEScc or ACEScct.
For more information on the ACES CDL Grading Mode, see the Pomfort Aces Grading Mode documentation.
With the introduction of the Livegrade Studio 6.5, the Port of a Disguise device can be set manually.

Workflow
Prerequisites
- At least one Colour Decision List (CDL), or multiple CDLs, set up in your Disguise Designer project.
- Livegrade Studio installed on a Mac. Free trials are available for a short period of time, once this has expired you will need to purchase a license from Pomfort.
Setting up the connection
- Set up a CDL in Designer by following the CDL worflow steps on the CDL page.
- Ensure Designer is running on a machine in your network.
- Using a Mac on the same network, open the Livegrade Studio application.
- From the main menu, click Slots > Add Device and select Disguise System. Alternatively, add the device using the device manager.
- In the Add Disguise System dialog window, add the IP address of the Disguise system running Designer.
- Add the port number. In our example we use Port 8008, but with the introduction of Livegrade Studio 6.5, the Port number is customisable. The port specified in Livegrade must match the API configured in Disguise under d3Manager > Machine Setting > Advanced Network Configuration.
- In the Remote CDLs, select the CDL that you are using in Designer.
- Next, select the grading type as required. There are two types of grading are available to send the look to the Disguise system:
- Interactive: is used for grading the look of the Designer image interactively
- Manual: is used to upload the image look manually. To do this use the Upload button in the toolbar.
- Confirm the configuration settings by clicking Add Disguise System.
Active connection in device manager
Once the set up is complete, the device manager can be reopened at any time and will show a connected Disguise system under Devices.
