Designer Pro License Transfer
There may be times when you need to transfer a Disguise license to another container, such as a moving a Designer Pro license from one laptop to another, to use the existing license on a different system. In this case, the license will need to be re-hosted from the current machine and re-activated on the new machine. This procedure is explained below.
Deactivate and transfer an existing license
On the computer that has the relevant license activated (either on a physical USB dongle or a software container) follow the steps below to deactivate the existing license. This will move the license back to the WebDepot, where it can be activated from later.
-
Log into Disguise Cloud and under the Designer tab, select Designer Licenses.
-
Navigate to step 2 under How to activate your license, and follow the Click here link in step 2 of the instructions: “2. Click here to activate your license”.
-
In the Ticket: field, enter the original License Ticket ID found in your email. Then click Retrieve.
If you do not have the Ticket ID, please see the paragraph below on how to find it.
-
Ensure your ticket details are listed, then click Re-Host Licenses.
-
Select the licenses you want to transfer or re-host and click Deactivate Selected Licenses Now.
Please note that some licenses may not be eligible for re-hosting. -
Wait a few seconds for the WebDepot communication to complete.
-
Once the process has completed you will see a License transfer completed successfully! message. Click OK to continue.
-
The license can now be re-activated on a separate machine using the same TicketId URL sent in your original email, or by entering the Ticket ID in the Disguise WebDepot and clicking Activate Licenses.
Finding the Ticket ID for a license
A Ticket ID uniquely identifies a license (e.g. for a Designer Pro subscription). It consists of 5 groups of 5 alpha-numeric characters each, e.g.: 123AB-CDE45-6FGHI-J7K8L-MNOP9
The Ticket ID for a license you own can be found:
- In the original email that was sent to you after starting your subscription.
- The Ticket ID is the last part of the WebDepot activation URL, e.g.:
https://lc.codemeter.com/64700/depot/get.php?id=123AB-CDE45-6FGHI-J7K8L-MNOP9
- In the account overview of your user’s or organisation’s Disguise Cloud account.
If you are unable to find the Ticket ID via the above steps, please contact support@disguise.one with your CodeMeter Serial Number. This serial number can be found in the CodeMeter Control Center, or by generating a system diagnostic report and sending it to us. Please note that we may need to confirm with the registered license owner before providing the information.
