Fabric QuickStart Guide

Fabric is a preconfigured network switch that has been built to connect your output and render servers together.

Default Configuration

The Fabric switch comes preconfigured to support seamless Renderstream workflows. This section describes this configuration. You will not have access to change this configuration by default. See our section on Password Protection below for more details.

Port 1

Port 1 is configured as 1G and can be connected to a PTP Grand Master using a QSFP to SFP adapter.

Ports 2/1-16/4

Ports 2-16 are configured as 100G to connect to your 100G vx series server. Please use QSFP28 cables or optics for connection.

Password protected

The Fabric switch has been designed specifically to be preconfigured in the correct way to support Renderstream seamlessly. The switch has several configuration settings that can be easily mis-configured to break Renderstream workflows. For this reason we do not provide the password to amend the configuration of the switch. If you believe access to the configuration is required please please contact Disguise Support and they can help with advising on how best to proceed.

DHCP

The Fabric switch comes preconfigured with a DHCP and DNS server to ease setup over the fabric network. Any device plugged into the network is accessible on the Fabric domain. Example: \\rx-559999.fabric.

The DHCP server is configured to allocate IP addresses in the range of 10.250.222.5-10.250.222.250/24.

To access DHCP configuration and logs, please point your browser to switch.fabric:8080/.

Power

Follow these steps to properly power up your fabric.

Plug in both power cables.
Wait for the system to boot automatically.
Wait for the system status LED to turn green. If the system LED turns red, please contact Disguise support.

Power Rating: 100-127 VAC 50/60Hz 4.5A or 200-240VAC 50/60Hz 2.9A

NMOS

The switch comes preconfigured with AMWA NMOS registry that can be accessed on the following address: switch.fabric:8010/.
