Layers Overview
In Designer, a layer is an object which renders content in response to certain inputs.
Layers can generate colours or gradients, play video or display still bitmap images. Content is generated by creating layers, placing them on the Timeline, and animating their properties using Disguise’s keyframe editor within the layer editor.
Designer uses mappings to control how layer content is copied from the Timeline to the screens in the Stage level. Please see the chapter Content Mapping for a full explanation of this powerful feature.
To learn how to work with layers, see the working with layers section.
Types of layers
There are five main layer types in Disguise: content layers, generative layers, previsualisation layers, effects layers and control layers. For more detailed information on layer types please read the sub-chapter Overview of layer types.
To see more information about the different types of layers, see the layer types section.
