ezDMX Driver
The ezDMX Driver enables Disguise to receive DMX-based positional or control data using the ezDMX protocol.
This driver is typically used when integrating DMX-driven automation sources that transmit multi-channel values requiring interpretation inside Disguise.
In most configurations, the default driver settings offer reliable operation.
Adjust the settings only if your ezDMX device or network requires specific port, channel, or addressing changes.
This driver is especially useful when:
- Integrating ezDMX-compatible devices that transmit positional or movement data.
- Receiving DMX values from lighting desks or controllers that use ezDMX format.
- Driving automation axes or parameters using direct DMX input.
- Testing and monitoring DMX streams during installation or calibration.
- Using cost-effective DMX controllers in smaller or decentralised automation setups.
The driver provides a straightforward way to convert incoming DMX channels into meaningful numerical values that Disguise can use in real-time workflows.
Driver Properties
Section titled “Driver Properties”Universe
Section titled “Universe”The DMX universe from which data is received.
Channel
Section titled “Channel”The starting DMX channel containing the value to be interpreted.
Specifies the ezDMX device or network port used as the data source.
Input Mode
Section titled “Input Mode”Determines how many DMX bytes are read and how the value is formed.
Examples may include:
- Single Channel
- 2-byte value
- 4-byte value
(Exact modes displayed depend on the ezDMX hardware in use.)
