Managing Licenses
Once you own licenses, MyDisguise is where you view, assign, transfer and renew them, and keep track of activation and expiration across your online and offline purchases.
Designer and X Series use licenses, and Mapping Matter uses seats. Both work the same way here: they belong to your Organisation, and an Owner or Admin assigns them to the people who need them.
Your licenses and seats
Section titled “Your licenses and seats”Your licenses live on the Subscriptions & Licenses page, nested under the subscription that paid for them. Expand a subscription to see its products, then expand a product to see the individual licenses it contains.
A subscription shows its status, how many days remain, and whether Auto Renew is enabled. A license shows its own status and the person it is assigned to.
Both a subscription and an individual license can be renamed, and both start as Unnamed. Worth doing once your Organisation has more than one, since the name is how you tell them apart in the list.
Filter the list by Product, by status, by Renewal Date or by Member to narrow it down.
Assign a license to a team member
Section titled “Assign a license to a team member”- Go to Subscriptions & Licenses.
- Expand the subscription, then the product, to see the licenses available for that subscription.
- On the license you want to give out, open the assignment dropdown. It reads Unassigned until you assign it.
- Choose a person. The list shows everyone in your Organisation, with a search box for when there are many.
The person receives an email confirming that a license has been assigned to them.
Only people in your Organisation appear in that list, so invite someone before assigning a license to them.
Reassign a license to someone else
Section titled “Reassign a license to someone else”Reassigning uses the same dropdown. Open it on the license and choose a different person.
Choosing Unassigned takes the license back without giving it to anyone, which leaves it free to assign later.
If someone leaves and you remove them from the Organisation, their licenses are unassigned automatically. You do not need to do it first.
Renew a license or seat
Section titled “Renew a license or seat”Renewal is handled at subscription level rather than per license, because everything in one subscription shares a renewal date. See Managing MyDisguise Subscriptions.
Activating and transferring licenses
Section titled “Activating and transferring licenses”MyDisguise is where a license is owned and assigned. Activating a license needs CodeMeter on the machine or server that will run it, online or offline. Transferring a license between machines also happens in Designer and CodeMeter rather than here.
