Network Video Improvements (Prerelease)

Starting with r34.2, we provide a path to use a new NVIDIA Rivermax library which underpins RenderStream Uncompressed and ST 2110 Video Capture. This upgrade has the following benefits:

  • Improved performance on machines that receive RS or ST 2110 Video Capture.
  • Improved performance on machines that send RS.
  • Reduced latency and bus load on compatible hardware.
  • Support ST 2022-7 redundant streams in IP video capture.
  • Support for more modern NIC hardware on software-only RenderStream custom nodes.

Each machine you wish to enable the preview on must have the WinOF-2 driver version 26.7 installed using the Disguise bundle available here.

To disable the preview on a machine, restore the 2.90 driver using the link in Designer or d3Manager, or available here.

The preview does not need to be enabled uniformly across your session, but we would recommend running either all your Designer session machines with it, or all your render machines, or both.

The VX 4+ is not currently supported.

ST 2022-7 is a packet-level redundancy technique for RTP streams such as ST 2110-20 video and RenderStream Uncompressed. It works by sending duplicate streams over two separate links that are simultaneously received and processed, so that a loss of packets on one stream can be seamlessly recovered from the other and vice versa.

With the preview enabled, ST 2110-20 capture can receive an ST 2022-7 redundant stream. A second set of network details must be provided for the redundant stream, either manually or via the SDP file or NMOS.

ST 2022-7 Redundancy for RenderStream Uncompressed is not currently supported.
