Enttec Driver

The Enttec Driver allows Disguise to receive automation or control data from Enttec-compatible devices.
This driver is commonly used in workflows where Enttec hardware is transmitting DMX or serial-based values that need to be interpreted and applied within Disguise. These values can be used to drive automation axes or provide real-time parameter control.
In most setups, the default driver settings provide reliable operation. Adjustments should only be made when your Enttec device or network is configured differently, or when troubleshooting communication issues.
The Enttec Driver is used whenever DMX data from an Enttec device needs to influence automation behaviour inside Disguise. By reading raw DMX values from a connected controller, the driver allows lighting desks, faders, and hardware interfaces to control parameters or movement in real time.
This driver is especially useful when:
- Connecting an Enttec DMX USB Pro or Enttec DMX-over-Ethernet device to Disguise.
- Driving automation axes using DMX values.
- Driving behaviours or presets from a lighting console.
- Testing or monitoring DMX input from Enttec hardware.
- Integrating small-scale, low-cost DMX controllers into interactive workflows.
Driver Properties
Section titled “Driver Properties”Specifies the Enttec device or interface port being used for DMX input.
This determines which connected Enttec unit the driver listens to.
Universe
Section titled “Universe”The DMX universe being read from the Enttec device.
Channel
Section titled “Channel”The starting DMX channel where the incoming value will be read.
Additional channels may be read depending on how many bytes your automation mapping requires.
Input Mode
Section titled “Input Mode”Determines how the incoming DMX bytes are interpreted—for example:
- Single Channel (0-255)
- 2-byte value
- 4-byte value
(Available modes may vary depending on the Enttec device used.)
